In Natter:
NoiseDesign: I wonder which is more, a fuckload or an assload...
Sean K:
It depends on which weights and measures system you're using. Since we're both metric, the fuckload is bigger, but if we were using the English system, the assload would be bigger.

Technically, I believe that would be an arseload.

I have a very unhealthy relationship with those tacos. I know they're bad, but I want them. This sadly, is the closest I get to Buffy/Spike.

Such smart, well-educated people here. After dealing with idiots all day, it's a relief to listen in on the conversations of people as smart as me, and mostly better educated.

Psst! Nobody tell Ashtareth about the eesechay onversationcay in atternay
DavidS responding to Sean, in Natter:
Really don't understand everybody's beef with pre-measured, pre-seasoned rice. Y'all just like picking on the bachelor, I think...
One of the seasonings was mold, Sean. Hence the objection.

I still feel the need to point out that evangelical Christians are a pretty large and diverse group, and are by no means all scary, literal, end-times obsessed, nor even politically conservative. I mean, by some definitions I'm evangelical myself--I certainly go to a leftyish-evangelical church--and I don't think I'm especially scary.

About Christianity NSM, but get you onto the topic of pecans...
JoeCrow in Minearverse summing up the events of late in the night:
The Lurkers support Nilly in Paypal.
Not funny, but very nice, and great news:
Nilly: There's something that Hec once told me. About presents. That the beautiful thing about a gift is that it isn't earned or paid for. It only goes out one way into the world. And if one wants to honor the gift, then they accept it graciously, and give their own gifts out into the world. When they have an abundance to share.
So it's not like your amazing generosity has anything to do about me. It's about you, and therefore, if I want to honor you, I'm going to accept it. And not return it - just give back when I can.
Goodness, I guess it just means I've said yes.

in the Minearverse thread, about her very good day:
Let's see...I discovered a new online "family", sent money to a complete stranger to bring another complete stranger from Israel to the US, and inadvertently wrote a tag line for the person responsible for some of the best television I've ever watched.
Yes. I would call this day eventful.
