This thread is for Buffista quotage. Posts that are profound, witty, or otherwise deserving of immortality go here. This is also Shrift's source for the BRQG, so be aware that if your words end up here, they'll also end up there. Finally, please note which thread spawned the quotage and please white-out anything that might be spoilery to Un-Americans.

Thessaly and Phill, being unintelligibly Bostonian:
Thessaly: Of course, if the Yankees win, it will wicked suck, and we'll have to make a packy run to console ourselves
Phill: It would, I imagine, even be wicked retahhded. Oh the packy. Sometimes I miss my New England college days. There was a conglomerate: Pequod Pizza/Pequod Packy that delivered food and booze. And to round it out, the delivery guy, Pequod Pat, sold Pequod Pot. It was an entire weekend in one phone call.
"Yeah, let me get two large pepperoni pies, a case of Narragansett, a bottle of Jaegermeister, three packs of camel lights. Oh, is Pat delivering tonight? He is? You better throw in an Italian sub too. Thanks."
Actually, Phill is doing New London, but it's all the pretty close.
My fetish is out of control. I found that attractive.
Betsy HP in Movies:
When the romantic lead spends half the movie pretending to be somebody else in order to humiliate the heroine, we want the resolution to be his humiliation and his search for redemption. In *Down With Love*, we get a long incoherent speech that reveals that... the heroine is just like the hero, and has modelled her behavior on his in order to win his heart. Great, they're both jerks, and I hope a garbage truck runs over the pair of them. And then backs up
amyparker, in Bitches, re: daughters asking their fathers to teach them cool things.
"I asked you to teach me bodywork, and you didn't. So I had to go out and learn carpentry in the streets from strangers."
DXM knows how to give the best wishes ever:
Here is the promo for today's Mejia episode, "Happy Birthday":
Narrator (who sounds a lot like Jon B.): Today, on the Phoenix Wednesday...
After seeing the Buffistas.org logo, we open on a group of Buffistas, gathered around a table, staring at something.
ita: "Where is he?"
We cut to a shot from Jeff's point of view as he glances back and forth from a TV to a computer screen around, occasionally rewinding the tape he's watching.
DXMachina: "I think he's working on tonight's promo..."
Jeff first looks at the TV, then the shot cuts back to the keyboard, where we see his fingers typing.
Nutty: "Well somebody go get him. That was the plan, right?"
Jeff, still typing and looking very puzzled. He cranes his head forward, listening intently to make sure he gets the dialogue right.
DavidS: "I brought him a bunch of early Buffy comics I picked up at the Amoeba..."
The shot switches back to Jeff's point of view as we see some Buffistas (Teppy, Trudy, and Askye) in the background, doing Wednesday night episode discussion. He focuses again on the images on the screen.
Nilly: "It's his birthday, you know."
The shot focuses back on Jeff, as he straightens up and looks pleased. He hits the post key, and the newly minted Mejia appears in the thread. Behind him, we can see Perkins and Aimee wheel in a cake, while Emily and vw frantically work on getting the candles lit.
msbelle: "Ummm, pink frosting."
Cut to scene of amych wielding a saber.
amych: "I'll cut it."
Cut to scene of huge group of Buffistas raising their glasses in Jeff's direction.
All Buffistas: "Happy Birthday, Jeff!!!"

If I may, I'd like to COMM Jon B. from the COMM thread:

victor brings the personal with a side of cryptic, in Quotable Buffy.
Sometimes not being one's self can bring epiphanies. I discovered many things about myself the week I was Napoleon.
