"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

"They do? What's P. M. Mar-con-tell's name?"

Did you show your sister the sub-directory dedicated to Ple pictures?

theremin

Jon, I've been meaning to tell you, some Japanese dude did some gigs in Sydney recently and played a theremin on stage. He's called "Cornelius" and is known, apparently, as "the Japanese Beck".

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

From Natter:

askye: Because I don't frequent the really cool used bookstore often enough I missed out on a rally/protest at the Capital that wasn't about thewar or the Federal government but rather about Govenor JEB!'s attempt's to dismantle the state library. I haven't been to the state library in a while but it's great. If you live here & are over 18 you can get a card (here as in the state). The Library is an archive of books and records that relate to the history of the state, geography, genelogy, tons of stuff. And JEB! for whatever reason, wants to dismantle it. I need to find out more about this, I haven't had a chance yet.

billytea: If this were an episode of Buffy, it would be because there's an ancient document therein which contains the only means of defeating his demonic power. Possibly his tax returns.

Heather: And we're counting this out because why?

billytea: Only because it assumes he submitted a tax return, really.

Oh, dear. I've just earwormed myself with the CiT's song from Meatballs.

We are the SiT's so pity us
Dawn's a brat, the food is hid-e-ous
We like to smoke and joke and fool around
(Kennedy, sotto voice) I'm Wil-low bound
We are the Chosen SiTs

Thus, my friend, the sheer joy of Smallville. It gives him this fabulous Beautiful Big Gay Starcrossed Love with his sexy arch nemesis. Goodbye boredom, hello whoredom. Praise the gods of Yay.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

He's called "Cornelius" and is known, apparently, as "the Japanese Beck".

He's a very well known musician among the stateside indie rock circles.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

billytea is a one-man animal encyclopedia. He's like our very own Steve Irwin, except sane.

Narrator in Angel: Spoilage lite. No spoilers, just a comment on the WB's hatred for it's own shows and unrequited lust for awards.

I think theWB execs sit home on award nights in their formalwear and eat ice cream right out of the container.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

He's called "Cornelius" and is known, apparently, as "the Japanese Beck".

He's a very well known musician among the stateside indie rock circles.

Including the circle of me, although I've never seen him perform. "The Japanese Beck", though? I find that vaguely insulting. I've nothing against Beck, but to me, Cornelius is... Cornelius.

Back to the topic -- Scrappy giving an example of an appropriate use of "insent."

BUFFISTA A: Hey, Buffista B, I hear you know a lot about Sumerian Fertility chants and also the proper way to use a fish fork. Can I ask you some questions for a Smallville/SpongeBob Regency fic I'm working on?

BUFFISTA B: Sure.

BUFFISTA A: Insent.
