And because I'm in the mood to talk like Denis Leary, Rescue Me fic:
Part of the reason Tommy freaks so hard when he sees Colleen’s tat is how much she reminds him of her mother. Janet was the first girl to ever really take him on, in more than just fucking that is. And she stood up to her dad to see him, even though her dad thought he was a douchebag. A loser. Just about every bad thing that floats through Tommy’s brain on those nights when he has “a slip” and pickles it. A slip, Jesus. A couple of the nights recently he’s had fucking negligees, man. Whole lingerie drawers.
It’s the ghosts, man. If they would go away, he’d be one healthy motherfucker. Unless Janet moves to Kansas. Teaches his kids to be fucking farmers and makes it so they don’t even curse. And he’ll come out one Christmas, cause Janet’s decent like that, and they’ll judge him up against Kansas dads who run hardware stores and come home at five, and never see anybody dead. And he’ll lose...
Sonofabitch.
He really hates that Murphy kid.
Keep going with that Erikaj. There's a lot of potential there.
Thanks...hi. Newbie, or new name?
Cracking stuff, Erika - but, damn it, I
never
do seem to know your source material. Grr.
It's brand new, Fay. Just had its third episode this week. Denis Leary plays a firefighter trying to cope with 9/11. He's not doing too well at the moment. He's got a drinking problem and just gave his separated wife's new honey a computer virus. In short, a fairly typical hero for me, complete with a squad full of buddies and a vocabulary that would stop a train.(What's that all about? Me getting in touch with my masculine side?) And he sees his cousin's ghost, and the ghosts of fire victims. He argues with the cousin too.
I think so. And it's on cable so I don't have to watch my language.(I understand Leary to be fairly popular in England, so you might get to see it sometime.)
Thanks...hi. Newbie, or new name?
Newbie, and you're welcome.
Hi. I'm a Buffista crime show junkie, which makes me rare around these parts.(And I mostly write gen.) Welcome!
Hey, rookie, give me a quarter(/Homicide humor)
Sorry. Just always wanted to do that. :)
HA! erika is also my Official Internet Wife. We're both Homicide: Life on the Streets junkies.
Hmmm. Today's Open On Sunday Drabble theme is "patterns". Must consider that one for a bit...
