Yep. I changed it.And added stuff. Not only that, Nicole, but it sounds dirty...Munch has a radar for anything that sounds even a little smutty. That's why it's weird he's on Sex Crimes, now. Sometimes I fanwank that as somebody's sense of humor working overtime...water finding its own level, and whatnot.I figured the band candy would only make it worse.I was surprised by the Maupin comparison cause I worshipped "Tales of the City" in college, and wrote my own whole big derivative, crippy one...I had no idea the influence was still so obvious.

Buffista Fic: It Could Be Plot Bunnies

Heh. That candy would turn Munch into a drooling hormone with feet, who practiced his "dark sardonic stuff" in front of a mirror.
No doubt.
I worshipped "Tales of the City" in collegeYears ago, used to have reading nights with my roommate. He would read Tales of The City, (More Tales, Further Tales, etc) out loud while I laid on the floor, chin propped on hands, listening intently. He had the best reading voice. Sigh.
I had no idea the influence was still so obvious.Honestly, I have never read anything that reminded me so much of the beloved Armistead Maupin. I mean that in the best complimentary sense. (Especially in Maybe The Moon since I don't recall any of his other novels written in first person.)
Oh erika--you're making me miss Homicide something fierce. You have their voices down pat. So good.
When I was poor and working two part-time jobs to scrape by, I spent a considerable amount of time in several bookstores, standing in the aisles and reading a couple chapters of the Tales books each time, because I couldn't afford to buy them and the library didn't carry them. (This was before the era of big bookstores with coffee bars that you were welcome to sit down and read in.) That's how much I like Maupin.
I think Maupin is the Denzel of modern lit. Who doesn't love Maupin?
(blushing) Aw, shucks. Just tightening up the weak spots. I still want another shot at "Tales of The City" but not such a bald imitation this time...hopefully not being twenty means I learned stuff besides who Adena Watson is. I may ask billytea to explain love "iguana style" one day though.
"Iguana style" probably doesn't involve basking on hot rocks, I'm thinking.
Hell, the only reason I'm not missing H:LOTS as fiercely as I did before is because of your fic, erika.
