To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

edit: and, yes, Victor, you're sick.

Well, you're sicker. So there! Nyah, nyah, nyah, nyah.

You may assume, erika, that such a theft was not incidental. But, hey, Dru's got Girl Power, too.

When I first read that, I thought "No Way!" but, if memory serves, those guys did end up in drag more than once.

Tim and Buffy, edited for timeline error "I left my other notebook in the car."

"I'll come with you." Buffy said.

When they were out of earshot of the house, Tim said "I know about you, you know."
" What would that be? That I'm a Capricorn? A junior at Sunnydale High? I slept with my boyfriend and he went psycho?"

"No, not that. The other stuff. Slayer stuff. Why don't you take a walk with me and we'll sort this all out. I know your mom doesn't know."

"Are you allowed to talk to me without my mom?"

"Officially, no. And we're going to go back in there and do an official version. But I just couldn't shake the feeling that there is more to this story. You're a special case, Buffy."

"Gee," she said, sounding bitter. "Lucky me.'

"Lucky you. What happened with Angelus, Buffy?" She walked with such long strides that the detective could barely keep up. "Buffy, damn it. Your friend...your Watcher, is it? is up for for capital murder. Talk to me!"
"How do you know about Watchers?"

"Giles told me. He didn't want to, but he knew we needed to know for our protections and yours. I'll keep it out of the papers. Unless you did it. Then there would be nothing I could do. Or would do, honestly."

"I've been protecting myself for two years. How did you know my mom didn't know? And for Rule-Breaker Guy, you're being awfully honest."
"Secrets are my special power, Buffy. Keeping them, and exposing them." It sounded hokey, but he believed it with all of his heart. "Still haven't burned down any gyms yet, though." She was tough, but on edge, with teary eyes and a runny nose. Supergirl didn't have a tissue.Bayliss fished around in his pocket and found a rumpled Doublemeat Palace napkin. " Sorry I haven't got anything softer."

"That's OK, as long as you haven't been attacked by a Kleenex demon. You haven't, have you?"

"No. Are there really...?"

"No, just wanted to see if you would know.Messing with you distracts from my guilt."

"If I had a dollar for every time a woman told me that".

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Erika, wasn't Buffy seventeen after her birthday in season 2?

ETA, This is a wonderful story. I am really enjoying it even though I am not too familiar with Homocide.

Bugger. I thought that, then I was like "Oh, no, this'll be perfect."Ok, that scene will eventually be longer. Must rethink.
