Sleep for Grief
was wonderful. There's a Sandman/HP crossover (The Language that God Speaks, IIRC) and a remix of the the fic that are both wonderful.
Gaiman's Death is a wonderful character, as are the rest of the Endless. It's also much fun to write them into other series, and....ohshit. plotbunny.
I actually found a Sandman/Hob slash piece. (That's his name, right? The guy he meets every hundred years.) It's by...Ellen Fremendon, I think, which is why I gave it a chance. It's an odd read, but certainly worth the time. Anyone interested in the link?
Thank you Anne! I'll prolly print it out and read it on the bus home tonight.
Dana, YES. Please post the link.
I wouldn't mind seeing the link. The only Sandman slash piece I remember reading was one that paired up Daniel!Dream with Rose Walker's son, IIRC. It was a beautifully done piece.
All Hearts, Which I By Lacking.
Yeah, Hob Gadling. That's the name. Spoilers herein for most of the Sandman series, up through...um...Brief Lives, I think. S.A., I don't know how far along you are, but you should definitely not spoil yourself.
I'm up to the third one, in that I've read the first two and not the third. So I won't read it.
So much good stuff. Dana... never read Sandman, either, and didn't need it. Such good Buffy voice. And what you wrote was so immediate, so real and accessible. And true. It sounded true.
The piece of Mely's is, as we were discussing lately, in second person, which I've never liked.
It's perfect. And yes, teary-making.
Such good stuff.
Dana, that was fantastic!
I don't know Sandman, but Death made perfect sense to me. And, I guess, the brother who gave Buffy the dreams was the Sandman?
The bit about Joyce? Heartrendering. And all the hints about things (and deaths) to come? Brilliant.
Love it.
Oh, god.
Sleep For Grief. I hurt.
