Man, you just get darker and darker, and the weird thing is, your aura? Beige.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

And this...

"You still don't know who I am?"

"No idea."

"Huh," the girl says. "I don't usually get that. People just...know. I wonder if it's because of who you are."

Nice echo of the opening sequence of "The Gift".

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Nice Death!

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Thanks, guys. (Feedback? Best thing ever.)

You realise, without having ever read the Sandman stuff, I didn't need it?

Yeah, I figured. It's not real dependent on the Sandman universe, Death being one of those Little Black Dress characters that goes with everything. Morpheus is actually my boy, but I'm pleased that I seem to have gotten Death right. Plus, I bet Morpheus is harder to write.

Cool. Now if I can just find time today to get it posted to the lists...

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

For some reason, despite the physical description (brunette, etc), I kept seeing your Death as Azura Skye's character - I think it was Azura Sky. Cassie?

Or, rather, not so much the character, but that voice and intonation.

A nice collection of Death images.

And, of course, a classic, Death and Dream feeding the pigeons.

Edit: Whoops, looks like no direct linking allowed. Death and Dream is the first picture on the third row.

It's weird - I've never written Death as a character, but somehow, I want to see her as a chilly blonde with long eyes and a lopsided smile.

May have to try a shot at that.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Oh! Dana! That's so fucking great. I'm so glad you wrote that.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

What I love about Gaiman's death is she's so huggable.

She really is.
