Deena! You popped your fic-cherry!
So, you going to post it up at the site?
It's funny, I was whining to ita elsewhere that I thought my stuff might be too esoteric for most fic-taste, since the only feedback I've got on any of it came from readers I know, except for the one original response to Pensioner. And hey, presto! someone actually posted a comment at the site.
And now I wonder if ita shoved them over to do that.....?
naaaaah.
Thanks, Jilli! I'm inordinately proud of myself. I never thought I could do it.
I did post it! Just now! I'm sort of internally squeeing.
It results in strange facial contortions, but it feels good.
edit: I had to go back and refresh my memory. I didn't think it was extraordinarily esoteric, dark, perfectly wes, and very nicely done.
I think yours is one of the reasons I wasn't sure mine was descriptive enough.
Yay! I think I love this best about the drabble thing. It's bringing out new writers!
I think you're evil, but, that's one of your most special charms.
There's some very good stuff up there; some very cool takes.
Where's the drabble LJ again?
One of my "I'm bored" writing tricks is to start something, do a word count about mid-way through, and then give myself a final word count. This is why I have some random 500 and 250 word pieces up.
I think it's a leftover from doing my IB extended essay (AKA the nightmare of Rewriting To Fit Word Count").
I love word count rules, especially when they're short. Previously, though, my shortest was 300 and I set it for myself to see if I could do it. Short fiction is so much easier for me than longer.
Someone tell me not to find more drabbles to do, please? I should be parenting responsibly, or something, right now.
deb, are you still having trouble hitting dymphna.net?
I'm emailing you right now with the stripped-down HTML documents of Girl 1 and Girl 2. Netscape's sure to be able to open that. The Faith series will follow.
