So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

When in doubt, there's always the google language tool.

Which sometimes gives you funny answers.

with a gleam in my eye, and an almost airtight alibi

Spike couldn't even kill rats without a lot of pain. It's still not clear to me what he's eating down there.

the hardest to learn / was the least complicated

Really? For some reason I thought animals were in the same category as demons -- killable.

I think they've let it slide, but Harmony did say something about him not even being able to step on flowers. This, however, is Harmony. Didn't say it didn't hurt, though. When you get to starving vs. eating with agony, it's not wonder he's nuts.

I never considered Harmony an authority on Initiative chipmanship.

Thrive to spite them

I thought Harmony was just being stupid and vapid when she said that.

Speaking of Harmony I'd love to see Spike hallucinate about her.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

I think if he started hallucinating about Harmony, Spike would go try to hug a sunbeam.

You sip / say it's your crazy / straw say it's you're crazy / as you bicycle your soul / with beauty in your basket

I think if he started hallucinating about Harmony, Spike would go try to hug a sunbeam.

Snerk.

Connie, I *really* like it. I think it's gorgeous. I have one or two little things that caught my attention:

Angel reached out to touch Spike's cheek, but Spike jerked back from the touch. "Look at ye, boy," Angel whispered. "What have you done to yourself?"

The sudden Irish inflection on Angel's part jerked me out of the narration.

And, I don't know, all the "boy"s Angel says to Spike? I can't get behind it. Has Angel ever called Spike "boy" onscreen? If it only happened in the flashbacks, if it happened at all, than I'd still shy away from having presentday!Angel call presentday!Spike "boy" *so* often so easily. I could understand him slipping back into an older Angel/Spike dynamic when he first sees Spike, but I think that he would be conscious of the different distance between them currently again after that initial shock.

"William." Spike subsided.

Xander blinked. "That's all it takes? Using his real name?"

I think I *might* want to reorder this to

"William."

Spike subsided. Xander blinked. "That's all it takes? Using his real name?"

But I don't know. That's not as elegant is it? It's just bothering me that an Angel line and a Spike action are on the same line of dialogue-- my brain keeps trying to read it as though Spike were saying "William", which of course doesn't make any sense at all.

But, Connie, I love it. *Very* ME.
