I use nonUSian spellings for certain words, it's been srewing with my typing, I don't even notice it and I'm not sure how I picked it up but the spelling just seems natural to me.
I had to set my spellchecker to recognize custom spellings, because I got tired of "judgement" and "grey" getting tagged. I am mightier than the Spellcheck.
Fay, if it's any consolation, your Icon, "Keyword: Bound", did something very mushy to my insides. I should spell that mooshy.

My fun with the spellchecker is when I get to add words to it. Like "asshole." And "fuck." And "motherfucking fuckwad." And "snark."
I get much joy from that.
I was quite surprised at the number of obscenities I've had to add to the dictionary. Not shocked, just surprised. I suspect I am no lady in my work.

You're not alone. I use a UK spellchecker for the current series, and I was absolutely livid to find that it refused to recognise "gobsmack".
