"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Urutsokidoji! Cartoons are for kids, right?

The one thing about glue traps that makes them less cruel is that they mostly don't work. Unless the critter is very tiny, most mice and rats can just walk right over them.

Yeah, my landlord sets out glue traps, and I've never seen one catch a mouse (though one did leave fur and poop behind on the kitchen trap overnight soon after I moved in). They've proven fairly effective at catching bugs and spiders though, so I leave them out. My thought toward the latter is "Yeah, payback is a bitch, eh?"

I haven't had a mouse since the night tried to herd one from behind a bookcase and instead pinned it against the wall with a corner. Apparently, word spread once I released it and it ran away.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Tonight's TDS guest is an astrophysicist, and he is one of the better guests I've ever seen on this show! Articulate, a perfect teacher in dumbing down complex concepts into simple explanations, and hilarious.

He was great! Plus he looked and, more importantly, talked a lot like a friend of mine (who's also a braniac, but in terms of high tech computers).

Yeah, definately. It was useless. It wasn't even entertaining!bad. Just cheap and dumb.

Suddenly feels validated for choosing VM over HOUSE

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm confused. Are you saying that you like peaches, or that you don't?

I... don't know what you're talking about.

So, the street isn't actually closed, but I believe that it was blocked off by where the subway is.

There was a fun writeup in today's SF Chronicle about a sockpuppetting scandal on some local political blogs. Fun times!

They did not, however, call it sockpuppetting. Still, what kind of person doing an internet impersonation doesn't know about IP addresses yet? Heh.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Remember how some stupid right-wing blog reported all that untrue stuff about the school that Obama went to? And then Fox reported it as true without bothering to verify it? (like CNN did?)

What was that thing they say about payback?

These are chilly days on Capitol Hill ... and on the campaign trail for Fox News journalists -- at least when they're anywhere near Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.).

Sources tell The Sleuth that the Obama camp has "frozen out" Fox News reporters and producers in the wake of the network's major screw-up in running with the erroneous Obama-the-jihadist story reported by Insight magazine.

"I'm still in the freezer," one Fox journalist said, noting that the people at Fox "suffering the most did nothing wrong." (It was "Fox and Friends" host Steve Doocy who aired the Insight magazine piece, which reported that operatives connected to Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) found out that Obama, as a child, was educated at a Muslim madrassah in Indonesia.)

Another Fox journalist called the network's airing of the story "unfortunate" for the network's journalists who have to cover Obama and who are being adversely affected despite not being involved in the incident.

Since the madrassah incident, Obama has given interviews to ABC, CNN, CBS and NBC -- pretty much every other network except Fox. Sources close to Obama acknowledged that they're not thrilled to play ball with Fox journalists, but they stopped short of saying they are freezing the network out.

Cool.

eta: "Freezing out" reporters is something the Bush administration has done quite extensively to reporters who ask critical questions - even when the questions don't involve a whole bunch of made-up stuff.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Who was Leonard Roberts? Was he Cameron's old guy? Because I recognized him and I can't remember from where.

I thought the episode was lame and pointless and where's my differential diagnosis and medical drama, dammit? I didn't like them making House an abuse victim either. Why does he have to have an excuse? They didn't have to make him sympathetic; it's been 3 years, we already like him.

Urutsokidoji! I have that on tape. Bizarre.
