If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Actually, Tom might be on to something. "I was inside the Dominick's when it burned down" would actually work in Chicago. It was kind of a big deal.

Most of the famous people I've met are politicians. Carter, Gore, etc. Trudeau gives me the best story though - though maybe a lot of Americans won't get how cool that was.

Never been on TV, to my knowledge.

You went to a play naked? Where'd you carry the tickets?

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Bwah! Thankfully, no one was naked at this play, as it starred a number of people who never should be, and the average audience age was greater than my mom's & dad's.

It had some good points (jazzy rhythm & blues music, a really good actress cast as Benvolio) and some bad (Mercutio actor performing as if channeling Jim Carrey—it's a community theater the size of a coffee shop pal, there's no 250th row on the mezzanine for you to play to).

Because books.

brenda, what about a "when I was little I wanted to be a..." kind of thing?

Also, Sail and I think alike. I like that.

Me, too.

At least you could be glad when Mercutio gets killed fairly early on.

The status is NOT quo.

MINE TOO! I believe msbelle has looked quizzically at me when I've gone on and on about it.

Jesse, my sistah! (Not in making msbelle look quizzically at me, though she may have, but definitely in the Atalanta love. I can still hear the recording of her breath panting as she ran.)

And God, St. John is just as sanctimonious as ever, isn't he?

Yeah-up. I hated that section of the book. Wanted to slap him silly.

And the only thing I can really complain about this version is Rochester not seeing his son's eyes. Or Jane's jewelry. There was a really fantastic flashback that just...ummm. It was sexy. Maybe not in the text, but um. Tracing the neckline of Jane's dress. And her face. But mostly the dress part. And um. I'd buy the DVD?

Mom did mostly volunteer stuff while dad was post-doc-ing. Stuff like LWV, women's prison education, nursing, handicap-kid fostering (more like going into group homes for kids who'd been abandoned: Sunshine house in MA.) There was shock that she was doing anything.

And while it seems so strange and novel now, it really does horrify me. I'm glad she had the opportunity to do those things, she really enjoyed them. But that it was considered daring despite it having no paycheck? Is freaky.

I can't imagine it.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

So far in the Men's final I can say with authority that Federer has prettier hair. No verdict on the rest yet.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

God, yes. That was a great bit.
