A ghost? What's the deal? Is every frat on this campus haunted? And if so, why do people keep coming to these parties, cause it's not the snacks.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Allyson, you've already sent it off, right? You're not trying to second guess yourself and all of us, are you?

Yes.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

YAY Allyson!

That is very cool, Consuela.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Yes.

I'm going to take that as a yes to having sent it off (uh, partly because I do remember having read that yesterday), so please imagine I'm shaking you gently and telling you not to be silly. Not that I wouldn't like to listen to it, but don't share it out of anxiety. Share it because we're greedy and you're generous.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Are you to become a mariner?

Nope, I'm about to start a new job that does however have something to do with lighthouses.

(I should probably edit this message later...[edited])

And thanks, ita. I decided about a year ago that I needed to leave, and started looking, but didn't see anything particularly great. And then in June I heard about this position (the woman who's done the job for 20 years is retiring this week), and started talking to them. They announced in October and made the first offer just before Christmas. So it's taken a while to get everything in place.

On the up side, I'm batting .500, since I only applied for two jobs since I decided to leave. Networking is definitely the way to job-hunt, if you have the time.

That sounds incredible, Consuela!

And good for you, Allyson!

So the emission check didn't happen, due to my poor planning. I have another 3 weekends to get this done. Home for lunch and then out again.

That's very slick networking, 'Suela. Networking (or rather Internetworking) got me my first job here in LA--one of the ex-TT people recommended a recruiter, and some months later, voila! Similarly, it's definitely presented most of my tangible opportunities this second time round, although I have a non-network-related interview Wednesday, and it just feels odd.

Man, I need to find my registration documentation. I have to put that sticker on my car. What's the point of having it done electronically and early if I then lose the paper?

Deadwood: So far, Jewel's definitely the coolest character. She rocks. I missed something in this last ep, and don't have the patience to rewatch and find out--what happened to the sheriff before Bullock? How did Bullock get the badge?

The status is NOT quo.

NoiseDesign did an amazing job for me (i still feel bad for taking up so much of his time)

Sillyhead! It was so good spending some time with you. Let me be the first to say that it was not an imposition at all. He didn't mind in the least (he told me so!). Also, it's perfect for TAL. I've been listening for years and years and years, and I think it's going to be a perfect match.

Also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY LAGA!

No, I just came back from the post office. Which was a zoo. Thank goodness for the self serve kiosk thingy.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That's very cool, Consuela.

Yay, Allyson.

How dare you pacify me with vague answers, woman!

Okay, now you can read the rest of that post.

I have a bunch of parcels to mail off. Self serve should suffice for most, but one's going off to Canada. Not exciting.
