Hauser: You really think you can solve the problem? Come into Wolfram & Hart and make everything right? Turn night into glorious day? You pathetic little fairy. Angel: I'm not little.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Theatre is a public, shared experience, and one never quite lets go of present reality enough to not be aware of other audience members and their reactions.

Hmm. I'm not sure that's what is going on for me, though. I suspect it has more to do with the theatrical performance being real people sharing air with me in an immediate way. There's no fourth wall between me and them, not the way there is on a television, where I can pause it or turn it off and go away. In a sense, I'm trapped in the theater. (About ten people left the show during the intermission, which is too bad, because there was a small amount of hope woven into the final act. Not a lot, because see above re: McDonough.)

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

SNOW! We have SNOW. Nearly two inches in about four hours. It's pretty.

Us, too. Though we're predicted to get freezing rain later, which should be tons of fun on top of the unplowed streets.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Anyone have recommendations on which website to monitor for the game? I'll be in tech the whole time.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I need to get a serious grip -- I just almost ordered $80 worth of meat.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I usually watch live game stats on nfl.com when I need to watch online, aurelia.

The Tribune does a watch-and-post during the game, Aurelia.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

Have you started your new job, Katie? How's everything else? Exciting!

Yes, I have! Well, kind of. I went in Tuesday and Wednesday so that I wouldn't get caught in any hiring freeze caused by the new governor coming in, and hey, hiring freeze came down Wednesday afternoon, so I'm glad I did. New Boss said he didn't *think* they would've refused to let me start, since I had an offer letter and all, but... better safe than sorry.

Everything else is basically fine, though I've still got a lot of unpacking to do. Washer/dryer have been purchased, though they won't get here until February 6th, so I'm sorry to say that there's a laundromat in my future. (Sigh.) There is a ridiculous amount of pizza in this part of the state and *nothing else to eat*. (That's an exaggeration, but. Pizza! Everywhere!)

IKEA!

Although I am sure it is a madhouse noon Sundays.

Hey, I could always go during the game... but no. No, I have already spent my lots of money for the day; I'm going to hold off. Besides, I need to get in touch with my friend from NY who I'd talked to about couch-shopping with me.

(I do need to *visit* the IKEA at some point. I hear it's an experience.)

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Try the meatballs!

What is even happening?

Whew. Talk about dodging a bullet. I'm glad you made it in, under the wire. They might have ultimately let you in, but it would have been a big dose of stress no one needs.

I don't know your area at all. I wish I could recommend some great place for you to try. Work people should be able to give you some pointers.

It's lovely to have you here, even if here doesn't yet feel any more like here than there did.
