I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I don't know, DJ, are you talking about witholding or filing?

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Hil, that's funny -- my shark-jumping moment was something you liked, and your maybe-shark-jumping moment was something that I liked.

Okay, maybe it didn't jump, but there's a damn fin in the water.

With apologies if this has been discussed, has anyone read "The Physics of the Buffyverse" by Jennifer Ouellette? Is she a Buffista?

It's a new popular-science book that uses Buffyverse things and events to riff on science facts, like comparing the Gnarl demon that flayed Willow with puffer fish and other neuro-toxin-wielding critters, or using Pylea to talk about worm-holes.

I'm enjoying the book and wanted to plug it. If the author is a Buffista - thanks, Jen! Good book!

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Filing. On the form it asks if you're filing as single, married, or married, but you want them to withold as if you were single. A friend's husband claimed her as a dependant, and she doesn't want them to end up owing.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Now I can't decide if I'm scared or eager to watch Ugly Betty tonight. Oh, and everyone should go to [link] and possibly buy things there.

I knew there was a reason I liked Jesse.

Aw.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Hi Shari, Jennifer isn't a Buffista, but I'll send her your post, I think she'll love it!

I do believe in killing the messenger, you know why? Because it sends a message. ~ Damon Salvatore

I haven't made any definite plans, but I'm pretty sure I'll be in SF in that timeframe, too

yeah...there's nothing definite about my plans either. my sister hasn't gotten any information about hotels and such. her supervisor just approached her with it yesterday and she called me all excited and hopeful.

Yaaaaaaaaay!!! I finally get to meet you!

yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!! i'll keep you in the loop.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

I loved all the interaction between Daniel and Betty. And I always love Wilhelmina. And Marc. But the ending just made my eyes roll right out of my head and down the elevator shaft.

I was just confused. I honestly wondered whether it was Fey and she was going to pretend to be Alex. But I liked everything else.

Punishingly Intricate

The Office!

UK or US?

BOTH!

I have a that/which mnemonic that I think I may have made up and doesn't ever really help me but I always think it when I'm confused about which word to use.

Which one? That one!

Thanks, Allyson. One of the nicest things about this community is the opportunity to meet so many amazing writers (that/which throwdowns notwithstanding).

Congrats to you on your book, too!
