Oh, yeah. There was this time I was pinned down by this guy that played left tackle for varsity... Well, at least he used to before he was a vampire... Anyway, he had this really, really thick neck, and all I had was a little, little Exact-O knife ... You're not loving this story.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

That's why it was a good name--movies, American folksong, fruit--a PLETHORA of references.

Pffft. You're never going to beat Pynchon in a battle of references.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Wait, the Clementine lovers weren't referring to the John Ford movie?

Well don't take Hec's crack-smoking word for it! Me, I was referring to the gawdawful folk song. But see, that's the beauty of the thread title. It works on so many levels.

Honestly, the Pynchon novela is almost unreadably bad. If it hadn't been on the midterm, I totally would have skipped it.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

If Chumley had been a girl-cat, he'd have most likely been a Clementine.

That's for sure.

For an ultrasmartie, you are so, so very wrong.

C'mon! It's got a Beatles parody band called The Paranoids. With songs!

Who wouldn't want to read that?

I actually need to go to Sephora today. We'll see if I have enough energy to fight my way down the Magnificent Mile in a half-hour. Maybe if I reward myself with manga?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Admit it! Jane Austen has no beatle parody bands in her novels. Not one.
