Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Book related squee:

So I just got an email from my editor that read: Also, great news: our sales folks have been out to the major chains recently, and they’re loving Vampire People. We’ve gotten very strong response from both Borders and B&N, and we should be shipping them a good number of copies to start out. And they both said it was the sample essays that made the case for them; they love the writing. But I'm whitefonting it because I'm totally afeared that they'll change their minds and I'll look all foolish.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Woot! Allyson! That is so freakin' cool.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Allyson, does the book have a specific release date? (IOW, when should I start asking my local indie bookstores to carry it?)

The status is NOT quo.

Allyson! Unwhitefont that; it's great news! (And utterly unsurprising--your essays are wonderful, and good creative non-fiction is hot right now.)
