How do we know animals have feelings, again?
Why would you presume they don't? The certainly express happiness and desondency and boredom and anger and fear.
I'd even go so far as to say that I've seen mammals grieve.

I talk to my dog and my cat all the time. But I don't exactly think they answer. It is nice to talk to them because you know they won't put your junk on the street.
If by known you mean scientifically verified, I don't know that it has been proven animal have feelings. So it turn out that when we say we know--or at least when I say it--I should properly say that I believe it.
Oooh, look. It's World of Warcraft Mania!
but I would say it's anthropomorphizing to ascribe human, ego-driven motivations to animal behaviors.Kittenish is tuna-driven. Whole different vibe.
Okay, see y'all later peeps. I'm going back home to the land of no internet access. (And yes, there's a whole post I didn't write yet about the frustrations of being sans internet for a whole week.)
I know my cats have nightmares. They'll jump up out of a sound sleep, stare around, stare at us, shake themselves, and lay back down. I think everyone knows that critters dream. Heck, I've seen them do REM.
Not to interrupt the cat chat, but is Gmail down for anyone else?

When my aunt died, their Siamese ran round and round the house day after day, screaming and obviously looking for something. She had never done that when my aunt or uncle were gone for a few days. The vet finally told them that Ling Ling would never be happy in that house without my aunt, but could possibly settle down in another home. My uncle gave her to a friend, and she eventually settled down. Grief? Recognition of some major change? Lack of the usual food person?
Heck, I've seen them do REM.
We call that their RPM cycle, for Rapid Paw Movement.
