Cowboy Junkies circa Trinity Sessions, opening for U2 circa Joshua Tree? I am DED of the retroactive jealousy.
It was awesome. I had barely heard of CJ at the time, but they were so great I almost forgot who I was there to see. Plus, my friend's father was a PR guy and had gotten great seats.
Of course, the concert is a prime example used in my "you don't always make good decisions in college" speech that I sometimes have to give to students, since I had to take 5 final exams in 2 days in order to get to the concert. It was my worst semester grade-wise by far.
But it was sooo worth it.
I do have a serious weakness for their Anniversary Song, from a later album.
I got that one on a mix cd that's one of the few cds I listen to often. And yup. What can I say? My sense of romance is lodged mostly in other's music and fiction. I like stories. CJ does an awesome job of that, even with the screwed up. I like songs that tell a story (a classic for me is Lily, Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts by Dylan but sung by Baez and I'm totally entranced by the latest from someone with an album called the Crane Wife, because it is
stories!)
green chile and navajo flatbread
Mmmm.
Also? I totally listened to both "Misguided Angel" and "Anniversary Song" today! Yay synchronicity!
Both excellent songs worth listening to again!
Hrm, I think I can go to bed now.
Who knew this ipod thing would develop into a compulsion to FINISH?

Heh. Since my last post, I've listened to it about 10 times.
No, really.
I told Hubby about Hugh Laurie's Golden Globe. I said, "And Hugh Laurie got the Golden Globe for best actor in a drama--" "In a drama? What's he in that's a drama?"
I stared at him, wondering at the weird joke he was making. "Anyway, in his speech--"
"No, seriously, what's he in that's a drama?"
"Um, hello? House?"
"That's a drama?"
"What? Are you serious?"
"Yeah, it's a comedy. The rectal thermometer left in? That's funny."
"What the hell would you call a drama?"
"They didn't show him recovering from the gunshot, they didn't show going after the shooter. OK, so it may be comedy in the Greek sense, but it's still a comedy to me."
My husband has a weird brain. He also keeps asking me, "What party is Bush in again? Democrat?" "No, sweetheart, he's a Republican." "I can never keep them straight."
the idea that 70 = cool just made me laugh.
70 means I'm in PJs, socks, and one to three blankets. 71 and 72 mean that too, pretty much.
My breasts got named tonight! One of the krav employees mentioned last week that hers had been dubbed "cease" and "desist" by a friend, and I bemoaned that mine were still anonymous.
I gave a great big boobie hug to one of the instructors who's a bit breast averse (well, I assume he likes his wife's just fine) and he shrieked "Shock and awe!"
And thus they were knighted. I need a shirt.
That is the pickmeup that's making today not entirely suck.
Doesn't pay for the windshield I need to replace, though.
You have to replace the whole windshield, ita? That sucks.
What happened?
70 = cool
It's cool enough when one's hands tend to be room temp. At 68 I'm getting kinda chilly.
Doesn't pay for the windshield I need to replace, though.
Is this related to the machiato(?) mishap?
