but for sleeping, sara? 70 is warm.
I didn't dispute that, I don't think? Summer weight blanket, it's my concession to lower electric bills. It's cool for general purposes, which ain't sleeping.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Man, I *love* the Trinity Sessions. Takes me way back. Misguided Angel, Walking After Midnight, Mining for Gold, that great version of Blue Moon -- good, good stuff. Oh, and Sweet Jane, before the Tarantino movie got ahold of it.
While I'm having loose posting because I'm stuck at the 'puter until I can finally go to bed...
I love the line "the great-grandsons of General Robert E Lee are making love/ with a little help/ from STP"
I'm not sure why. Cracks me up.
Man, I forgot how much I love THIS song too (Oregon Hill.)
Steph, Trinity was my first exposure to CJ. It's very, very dear to me. Misguided Angel does all sorts of fucked up things to me.
Can't wait until Lay it Down!
One of the best concerts I ever went to was in the spring of '87, when they opened for U2 in the (teeny) Hartford Civic Center. It was the first leg of the Joshua Tree tour, before they (U2) went all stadium.
I'd love to hear them live, just based off Trinity. But since I've been to all of 4 concerts, not likely (Fred Small, who no one has heard of I'm sure, Metallica, Tracy Chapman and Joan Baez.) I love CJ's turn of the word.
OK, almost able to go to bed. I'm freaky about leaving the computer heating up while I sleep.

Mine, too.

Ooof. And me, too.
I do have a serious weakness for their Anniversary Song, from a later album. Like, listen to it on repeat -- that kind of weakness.
Actually, I think I might just change my tag in honor of that song.

Cowboy Junkies circa Trinity Sessions, opening for U2 circa Joshua Tree?
I am DED of the retroactive jealousy.

It was awesome. I had barely heard of CJ at the time, but they were so great I almost forgot who I was there to see. Plus, my friend's father was a PR guy and had gotten great seats.
Of course, the concert is a prime example used in my "you don't always make good decisions in college" speech that I sometimes have to give to students, since I had to take 5 final exams in 2 days in order to get to the concert. It was my worst semester grade-wise by far.
But it was sooo worth it.

I got that one on a mix cd that's one of the few cds I listen to often. And yup. What can I say? My sense of romance is lodged mostly in other's music and fiction. I like stories. CJ does an awesome job of that, even with the screwed up. I like songs that tell a story (a classic for me is Lily, Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts by Dylan but sung by Baez and I'm totally entranced by the latest from someone with an album called the Crane Wife, because it is stories!)
green chile and navajo flatbread
Mmmm.
Also? I totally listened to both "Misguided Angel" and "Anniversary Song" today! Yay synchronicity!
