Now, I can hold a note for a long time...actually I can hold a note forever. But eventually that's just noise. It's the change we're listening for. The note coming after, and the one after that. That's what makes it music.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Damn, I am weak. I need to unsub from Natter until time catches up to my coast. I know I am spoiled for 24 but it was a while ago. That's kinda like it being fresh.

What is even happening?

I'm not watching yet, because we just got the kids to bed, and Scott's running to the store.

Did Fury write this one?

I didn't notice the credits on the first ep, Cindy. For the second ep, Manny Coto has writing credit, and Fury is one of five thousand or so co-exec and exec producers.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

The Patriots' winning was very dramatic, and on a par with falling out a top-story window and managing to land in an awning that breaks your fall just enough to land you in front of the hottie you were ogling from your top-story window. Very last-minute, lots of screaming.

I gave up on 24 when I realized that the continuity errors and reality-failures were not accidents and were getting bigger -- basically, season 2 before the cougar. I have my limits in OTT storytelling, and no amount of aggrieved bellowing can overcome them.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yay Pats! I left the game in the middle, but had been watching with SD fans, so I kind of wish I had been there for the win, but am really just as glad I had dinner with my cousin and her husband. Is he my cousin, too? I guess so, kinda.

Say, anybody remember the conversation we had about elementary school teachers who tell their students that you "can't" subtract a bigger number from a smaller one, and how betrayed some people felt by that?

Me! Me!!!

The textbook we're using tells me that "Negative numbers have no square roots." Now, eighth graders don't need to know about imaginary numbers -- they're certainly not going to see them this year, and maybe not ever. But to completely deny them like that... for shame, McDougal Littell!

ARGH. Seriously, if there's one thing kids should be used to hearing, isn't it "You'll understand when you're older"??

I have basically been eating since 2pm and am now mad full.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

24:

Siddig!

Damn, I totally did not recognize him until I read the name here.

Also, Vampire!Jack was awesome.

Art Crawl!!!

I LOVED Vampire!Jack - it's like he went feral while he was in China. Also, perhaps we could call him LostBoy!Jack.
