Damn, Cor. I hope the damage to the laundry room is less than expected and that the rain, rain goes away.

Oh, Corwood. I hope it stops, soon.
"There's no such thing as flavored water. There's a whole aisle of this crap at the supermarket, water, but without that watery taste. Sorry, but flavored water is called a soft drink. You want flavored water? Pour some scotch over ice and let it melt. That's your flavored water."
Did someone quote that here this week already? Because I've definitely read or heard it over the past week.
Edit: Aha! I read it here [link] attributed to George Carlin.
Good luck, Corwoods.
Eep, Corwood! I hope it lets up soon!
I don't remember seeing it. I used it as an email tag a while back and Matt's comment just reminded me of it.
ETA: Bizarre. It's definitely Maher.
Thanks y'all. It's not that big a deal, more a hassle than anything. Everything back there is up off the ground other than the washer & dryer, and they are covered under our homeowner's. I was just researching subfloors for damp areas and water-routing landscaping ideas last night, so this just proves that we need to fix these problems. Unfortunately, I suspect the fix will be expensive, but won't add any value to resale price of the house.
Corwood, sorry about the damage. My block floods a lot since we're right on the river. I don't think my landlord was very happy when I insisted on a washer/dryer (which by default had to go in the basement). I hope your repairs aren't too bad.
Woke up, was going to shower, brush teeth, do dishes, make coffee, make bacon & eggs.
Water's out.
FUCK.
ETA: whole block is out; water main break. Chelsea!!
That sucks, Corwood and bon bon.
NO MORE BAD TODAY.
I decree it.
covered under our homeowner'sThat's a nice phrase to read when hearing about flooding. Glad it's just a hassle and not a catastrophe.
I am feeling itchy like I want to go do ... something but it's still damn cold here. I forget that because of the whole inside with heat *and* insulation thing but it is. Enough that the ground be iced. I don't drive around ice. I am not good at it / used to it. Wish there was a way to shut up the toddler running around in my brain wanting to go oooooout.
