Mal: Well, you were right about this being a bad idea. Zoe: Thanks for sayin', sir.

Alien ninja baby took a nap, and then woke up kicking. Ow. I blame the 2007 Benefits Election/Change Form I just filled out.

Bribes. If you receive a bribe, include it in your income.

I never get bribed anymore. Sigh.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Which is not to say there *isn't* an idiot tax: NYS asks you to pay retail taxes on items purchased out of state and brought into the state. It's self-reported and I think they have no intention of enforcing it.

Robin, the report on the radio this morning said that winds of 20-30 mph will be accompanying the cold temps...but no, can't compete with Minneapolis.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

At least buildings here are properly insulated and heated.

looks askance at LA architecture

I have one fleece pants and a turtleneck and a fleece jacket. AIFG. I need to evict kitty from the bed though so I can nap.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

If you buy a car out of state you gotta pay sales tax on the state you bring it in to (at least if you live in IL). That was a big surprise to me (an there was no way to not pay it).

eta: They make you pay the tax when you get the title transfered to you. So that wouldn't apply if you buy a car out of state and then move to IL.

Ohio has a tax like that, including online purchases. I don't know that they're enforcing it either.

(And if they do, I hope they take credit cards.)

Michigan does that, too. You get to select from a range of dollar amounts, and through some complicated extra table homework hoodoo, the state tells you how much you so totally owe them for cheating on your local businesses with the internets.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I'd feel bad for the LAisas, except I'm in Minneapolis,

Same here. Saturday morning, I'm in Detroit.

Exactly this. My classroom has (for all intents and purposes) no heat. I'm huddled over a space heater at the moment because 58 degress outside may not be bad, but it's no fun inside.
