Can you deduct bribes as a business expense?
We did at one of my old jobs where we did a lot of work in Spain. We didn't call it bribes though. Gratuities? Something like that.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

It was quite nippy in SF this morning. In the thirties, I think.
Also if you make some big bribes, do you have to file a 1099?
::snerk::
I'm confused about that list. It doesn't include "key money," so if I pay off a super to get an apartment, does he have to include it or not? Es muy dificil.
I'd feel bad for the LAisas, except I'm in Minneapolis, where it''s supposed to be in the single digits plus crazy wind for the next three days. Yikes.
Alien ninja baby took a nap, and then woke up kicking. Ow. I blame the 2007 Benefits Election/Change Form I just filled out.
Bribes. If you receive a bribe, include it in your income.
I never get bribed anymore. Sigh.
Which is not to say there *isn't* an idiot tax: NYS asks you to pay retail taxes on items purchased out of state and brought into the state. It's self-reported and I think they have no intention of enforcing it.
Robin, the report on the radio this morning said that winds of 20-30 mph will be accompanying the cold temps...but no, can't compete with Minneapolis.
At least buildings here are properly insulated and heated.
looks askance at LA architecture
