Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
It's quite possible that my frustrated urges to stab Jack Black with toothpicks (see, Jesse? That's a lot of stabbing from my essence right there)
Ha.
Poor Puffy Vince. Although, in my head, Puffy Vince is also Approachable Vince, so I don't mind so much. (Puffy Vince looks like a guy I could actually go out with, I mean. Of course, I used to know a woman who actually did go out with skinny, pre-"Vince" Vinny, but that's neither here nor there.)
I got a hair cut as well.
Recruiters are weird. Just got off of a pre-interview, where I was asked for my interpretation of paragraphs of their end-client's philosophy document.
Out of three it seems I missed one (although I mitigated it by placing it into a larger context, distract, distract, smile), nailed one, and knocked one out of the park.
It's interesting how much stress is being put on company culture in the hiring process. Company A spent a lot of time sharing theirs with me, and Company B spent a lot of time ensuring I was a match for theirs.
Four years ago it never came up.
At home we've been having a problem with a light bulb flickering in the lamp. The light bulb was replaced yesterday and the lamp still flickered this morning. I have had my phone off all day and just turned it on to read this text message:
"The lamp was the problem. I know this because the new bulb exploded, the lamp made a sound like a blender, fire shot out of the switch, embers fell to the floor, and smoke filled the room."
I think the lamp was the problem.
I think you might just be right about that! Commendations to the investigator on his report and bravery in the face of lamp self-immolation.
I got a hair cut as well.
Good day all around!
ita, HR hiring practices are incredibly susceptible to trendiness. Corporate Culture is the thing right now.
I've got a job interview next Wednesday. I'm entirely ambivalent about it. I don't really want another HR job, but new babies need moneys.
I have to track down references! Is one really supposed to be in contact with people from their penultimate jobs? Because my last employer doesn't allow references. Just verification of employment.
I'm sure the references I used to get my last job--well, half of them don't remember me by now.
And I'm not her anymore.
Apparently Vince looks less puffy and zombified from a distance! Who knew?
I think the lamp was the problem.
Oh DEAR.
"The lamp was the problem. I know this because the new bulb exploded, the lamp made a sound like a blender, fire shot out of the switch, embers fell to the floor, and smoke filled the room."
Heh.
