I have a really annoying problem (Finder's crashing) that apparently can only be fixed by an Archive and Install.
For which you need to *not* have the upgrade discs, but need the originals. Needless to whine, I only have the upgrades.
Is it unseemly to ask to borrow the Tiger discs for this fix?
Anybody know where I can find a download of Flash 9? Somehow, mine got corrupted. hulu, et al, worked yesterday, today it does not. I can't upgrade to Flash 10 on this pokey little 'puter.
I've crawled all over adobe, macupdate and version tracker.
This feels like such a simple thing, and yet, I'm failing. And flailing.
Adobe has issued a security update to v9. [link] Work is all atwitter, so figured it is worth mentioning.
Of course, I think I got the old one just a few days ago. Figures.
Does anyone know where I can find drivers for the DVD drive on an HP Pavilion HP dv4z-1000? My sister just screwed herself.
matt says that it is all on the hp web site but you need the part number usual scheme is letter followed by 4 number dash followed by three numbers

So far it looks like they want you to buy the restore disks -- he'll keep looking
Oh, fuck. I'm going to have her call support. I can't walk her through all this from here. If Vista shipped with restore points enabled, then maybe it's an option.
