If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Are anyone else's Tivo program listings all screwed up? I went to the site to see if El Fuckwit was going to mess with Supernatural night and extend the recording just in case, but the guide seems to think we've bumped forward in time five or six hours.

Like, it shows right now to to be 5:30 p.m., but the programming clearly still daytime stuff. It's got SPN listed as broadcasting at 2 a.m. Help? I've got stuff to do after work and I'm going to be hella pissed if all my scheduled stuff is messed up.

To the middle of the Atlantic, apparently. I'm trying to figure out how to check that. (And honestly, did ever a product as glorious as Tivo have a more frustrating, useless web platform backing it up? I get stressed out every time I have to go there.)

hip deep in pie

sumi, in iTunes, go under edit, the Preferences, and on the devices tab, try checking "disable automatic syncing for iPhones and iPods" and see if you can stay connected then.

My nano ejects as soon as it connects. Could I have too much stuff on my itunes or something?

However, I uninstalled a useless "communcator" thing that was my university-centric and suddenly my computer is working much, much faster.

I'm tempted to restart and then see if I can get nano to update manually.

Hey, can someone tell me the difference between a web address that is "www.mywebsite/mystuff" and "www.mystuff.mywebsite" ? Is one more desirable than the other? if so, why?

We're debating renaming my program's website, and I'd like to be able to respond intelligently. The people I'm working with are idiots not very web savvy, so I'm trying to explain why at least some of the changes that they want are stupid. Two people are arguing about this difference, one thinks that mystuff.mywebsite "looks better", and I want to know the difference.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Hey, can someone tell me the difference between a web address that is "www.mywebsite/mystuff" and "www.mystuff.mywebsite" ? Is one more desirable than the other? if so, why?

Aesthetically, when I put a subdomain up I never put www before it. But that's beside the point. I think subdomains (mystuff in your second example) are useful when you have significantly separate groupings under your domain umbrella. So most of my domains don't have subdomains, but provocateuse is broken down by picture topic, because maybe people who want barefoot don't care about the skirts or spectacles.

But they're organised in my file structure exactly the same way they'd be if I'd opted for provocateuse.com/barefoot. But you could separate them more. Even put them on different servers.

Now, if your only content is mystuff, I'd toss it entirely and just go with mywebsite--is it?

Thrive to spite them

Omnis, thanks for the information about the bluetooth headset option, but I decided to go with a wireless headset that had noise cancelling headset. After a couple days of listening to my downstairs neighbors I'm missing the ability to drown them out.
