Our wings are not tired.

I am confirming with the landlady, but I think she mentioned that she had the dish already installed. For some reason she went back to Comcast, so I am waiting for her input.

ETA: Turns out it wasn't DirectTV, it was something called "Dish Network".

information libertarian

We have Dish Network (in Athens GA) and have been satisfied. Their install guy came out and was efficient and prompt, no trouble since. We picked them after the local Cable Satan people told us it would be $100 two weeks from then to do a drop line from the street. I think we got some coupon for free install from the Dish people.

Coding and Sleeping

I've somehow expanded my Word open-file dialogue box to full screen. I can't get to the edges to resize it. Any ideas on how I can get this back to the smaller size?

Will double clicking the title bar return it to normal size?

I have ended up staying with Cable (I'm on Charter) mainly because I've had much much better service out of cable internet than with DSL, I also get better speeds, currently 10 Mbps and soon upgrading to 16 Mbps. I've not seen DSL that comes close to those speeds. Once I bundled it all together with the Cable HD TV it was a better deal than Direct TV or Dish.

Yes, thank goodness. That must be what I did to switch it in the first place. Thanks Gud!

Comcast is Satan in disguise,

And thinly disguised at that.

Welp, I definitely don't want to go back to DSL, and it looks like that's my only option if I choose satellite. Pooh. I have to stick with cable. I am now researching to see if Comcast is my only option...

Thrive to spite them

I have Comcast, and granted I'm in a smaller market but I've had mostly good experiences. Except for the problems I had when I moved, but that turned out to be an incomptent tech and old connectors.

I know some people who had either Dish or DirectTV but kept running into problems during bad weather and things like that. I know at my last place it wasn't an option because of all the trees.
