Our wings are not tired

that has more i/o then I could hope to use. I don't even have my cassette tape deck hooked up anymore, or turntable, since I never use them.

For me the i/o was all about the video. There's an HD Tivo with HDMI out, PS3 with HDMI, Apple TV with HDMI, Wii with component, XBox 360 is connected to the TV via VGA since I don't have one of the newer models with HDMI, then there's optical connecting the 360 to the receiver. The PS2 is also connected via component and optical.

Yeah, I might have a game system problem.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

There is no way in hell I could ever justify the cost of a PS3 just to get the B-R deck. Or a $400 A/V reciever for that matter.

I also can't see myself needing more than 2 HDMI inputs in the foreseeable future (Cable/DVR & DVD player), which is what most of the $150 models I'm looking at come with. My current game system is a GameCube (composite).

[eta: I don't mean to sound snotty - I really do agree with the general philosophy about getting the best value rather than just the best price. But I work in public television and DH is a journalist, so the reality is we have to be bargain shoppers even if there are better values out there for "just" a couple hundred bucks more.]

Jessica, don't worry, I don't take what you are saying as snotty. I totally get it.

There is no way in hell I could ever justify the cost of a PS3 just to get the B-R deck.

I was actually feeling the same way until I looked at the prices of pretty much any of the real name brand B-R player and realized that the PS3 was no more expensive.

The status is NOT quo.

Yeah, I might have a game system problem.

Might?

And Jessica, I hear you on the "just" a couple hundred dollars things. It's a source of contention between ND and me from time to time since we do separate finances and all my "extra" income goes to debt. It's nice having high quality stuff, but I wouldn't have any of this on my own.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

and all my "extra" income goes to debt.
Ya, this is what is keeping me from buying it too.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Despite being on unemployment I got a Wii last year, and later the Wii Fit stuff too. I don't regret the expense, though I suppose I could play it more often than I do.

Still, it's the only game system I've ever WANTED to own.

It's Apple Keynote Day!

Hopefully, I'll finally get to buy the Mac Mini I've been wanting the last six months.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.
