All is well that ends in pizza.

If you just bought it, and it's not a HD-DVD burner, It can probably take the following:

DVD-R
DVD-RW (rewritable)
DVD+R
DVD+RW
DVD Dual-Layer

You can also get dual-sided media for the ±R types, but it's clunky.

Last time I checked, Dual-Layer media wasn't worth the extra expense for what I was doing, YMMV.

Generally I get DVD-R, as it seems more universally compatible, but some people say +R seems to work for DVD players a bit better.

Anyone else that records more have strong opinions?

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Wow, that really is a great deal. I'm tempted even though the only domain I really have a use for is already paid up.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Wow. I wonder if I can get that on my current account even though I'm already prepaid for 5 years (from the last time they had a huge sale, but not this big).

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

95% off? 44 cents per month? I think I'll have to bite, based on this: Top 10 ways to put your remote server to good use

From one of the pages you get at sign-up:

"Because promo codes may only be redeemed by new customers, you may not use a credit card or domain name that has ever been used with DreamHost in the past."

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Thank you thank you! I'm signed up and everything now, just when I could really a) use a domain and b) SO need a deal.

I won't be actually able to USE it until I'm home and on my big fat work computer, but even so this is giddy-making.

I think I'll have to bite, based on this:

I signed up for the same reason. However, when it came time to billing, I was charged $21.48, rather than the $10.47 promised in the article. I wrote to them to complain and got the following response:

The issue here was that the deal ended up being waaaay too good and the number of signups we were getting was causing some major problems with the servers. Of course I'm more then happy to offer the 10.47 credit on your account to honor the original promotion.

Go squeaky-wheely-me!

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Oh good, I'm going to do the same thing. I assumed I'd just misread and the $10.47 was per year.

um. Bait and switch? Dude. That could be bad. What did they think, it would go unnoticed? It's the web! A deal like that amongst computer folk is bound to go viral!
