Sir? I think you have a problem with your brain being missing.

I like LG for cheap but good TVs. Target's the easiest option if you want it now, but you can probably find better prices online.

If you're a Costco member, their Visio line (which I think is actually made by Toshiba or someone) is dead cheap, and will give you a perfectly decent picture, especially at 26".

Hey. New board.

I like my 26" Dynex TV just fine, and it was less than $400 including tax at Best Buy.

The dynex at BB was just under $300 today. I'll keep looking online and check out the post-xmas sales, maybe. Thanks for the brand reccs.

Mom gets consumer reports, so I'll ask her.

I'm very partial to Samsung LCD's, they are a little more expensive but I've found them to be very worth it.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

I have a Samsung LCD that I got on sale from Best Buy in the summer. I think it's great. From what I understand, for "smaller" sets, less than 50" or so, picture differences are mild between brands. So it's more about features the set has and price. One thing I wish my set had was picture in picture. Aside from that, it's cool.

One of the big things to look for on LCDs is the contrast ratio. The good sets will have at least 10,000:1, the really good ones upwards of 30,000:1.

Considering I'm getting air broadcasts, not cable and am supremely unpicky about picture quality (see: rabbit ears) and I'm really cheap.... but it is good to know. Most of the numbers don't mean much to me.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

So I accidentally unplugged the power cord to my MacBook. The power then ran all the way down to 0% and the MacBook suddenly died. No warnings at all. Once I reconnected the power cord, it booted up fine, but the "% charged" sat at 0% for about 15 minutes. Now it seems to be charging normally. But when I go into System Profiler and look under "Power", the "Health Information / Condition" says "Check Battery." What does that mean?

Jessica is one of my two Google Reader friends. Am I one of yours, Jessica?

So it turns out I'm an idiot - you ARE one of my Google Reader friend. (I just had a brain fart yesterday and didn't connect you with your real name. DUH.)
