if it isn't ejecting, you might try shutting down the computer and see if you can eject normally after restart.

What Tommyrot said - I'm wondering if there's an option that doesn't include restarting so I don't have to interrupt my upload (which still has another 45 minutes to go).

If you go to Force Quit → Finder → Relaunch, it would probably free up the DVD drive, but I would advise against doing that since it could interfere with the upload in your other window.

you have to buy a starbuck's gift card and register it. if you make a purchase every 30 days or so using the gift card, you can have 2 hours of access per day.
