OK. I'm finally admitting that my DVD player is really most sincerely dead. Any recommendations for a new one? I'm not really looking for anything fancy, just a good balance of cheap and reliable. Any recommendations of brands or features to look for or avoid?

I like the look of this Brother MFC465. It has an ethernet port...
How do I deauthorize a computer I no longer have in itunes? I have 5 authorized, but only three current computers. One of the three is about to change, but it is the one I sync my itunes with, so I would like it to go semi seemlessly. It is a work computer, so I don't want to bother the work people with it.
If you still have access to the computer, I think you can just click "deauthorize" under store. Otherwise, I believe you have to clear all computers and then re-authorize the ones you still want.

Just saw this on Apple's home page and was very happy:
No on Prop 8
Apple is publicly opposing Proposition 8 and making a donation of $100,000 to the No on 8 campaign. Apple was among the first California companies to offer equal rights and benefits to our employees’ same-sex partners, and we strongly believe that a person’s fundamental rights — including the right to marry — should not be affected by their sexual orientation. Apple views this as a civil rights issue, rather than just a political issue, and is therefore speaking out publicly against Proposition 8.
Go Apple!
that is wonderful. D is in the market for a new computer. Can an Apple and a PC be networked together?
Can an Apple and a PC be networked together?
Yes, quite easily.
I decided on a printer--the HP 6280. It turns out not to be wireless compatible like the tag at Best Buy had said, but no big deal. Print/scan/copy with duplexing and colour copying for $179.
Finally I can do my flexible spending reimbursements. I've been printer-free for years, but I can't bear funding Fedex Kinko anymore.
Awesome. That should be a pretty good model for you. I used to have the earlier version of that line and it worked fine. On my current HP I lost the duplexer early, but I think that was an issue with my specific unit and not a problem in general.
Make sure you get the most current drivers and fixes as I've had several times where HP's multifunctions would uninstall themselves, but the fixes seem to have sorted that out.
I miss being able to fax. But with only mobile phones there's no line to plug in, which we had with Vonage.
iPhone question. E-mail app. Right now I have just my .mac account on it. I've been thinking about adding my work Exchange account. But I don't want to have a merged inbox. I like to keep them separate, but would like to be able to access work e-mail from my hip when I can't get to the laptop. So, how does the phone deal with multiple e-mail accounts?
