Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

I got my new MacBook Pro!

I named it “vanderrohe”, because it’s sleek and of metal and glass, but I’m not sure the name will stick.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

My desk has two tower PCs on it, one LCD monitor, an 8.5x11 or so flatbed scanner, and a keyboard. And stuff I can't convince myself to move away.

I need a printer. Enough that I'm considering buying one when I have no income. There's no desk space for it, even when I finally move one of the towers. I don't want to put anything on the floor if I don't have to, because of the cable snarls and the dust issue.

Looking at the Office Max page omnis linked to, there are no just inkjet printers for sale from Brother. Which made me think about a flatbed MFC, so I could lose the scanner too. And it can't hurt to have fax capabilities...

Anyone have MFC recs? It's either that or a small photo inkjet printer. Which I'm off to go look for.

My HP inkjet/photo printer does good scanning action, so you could repurpose the scanner footprint if you replaced it with one of those. I never had a dual-purpose one before (it will also make copies, so bonus) and I'm wondering why I waited so long.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

OK. I'm finally admitting that my DVD player is really most sincerely dead. Any recommendations for a new one? I'm not really looking for anything fancy, just a good balance of cheap and reliable. Any recommendations of brands or features to look for or avoid?

I like the look of this Brother MFC465. It has an ethernet port...

How do I deauthorize a computer I no longer have in itunes? I have 5 authorized, but only three current computers. One of the three is about to change, but it is the one I sync my itunes with, so I would like it to go semi seemlessly. It is a work computer, so I don't want to bother the work people with it.

If you still have access to the computer, I think you can just click "deauthorize" under store. Otherwise, I believe you have to clear all computers and then re-authorize the ones you still want.
