Apparently with the package I'm looking at, one receiver is included, and an additional one costs $5 a month. Is that reasonable? Irritating? Highway robbery?

Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!
Reasonable (with the disclaimer that cable is always highway robbery). I think when we had cable, it was $5 for each receiver, but since we dropped it I don't have a bill handy to doublecheck.
It's standard.
speaking of cable, has anyone used, tried, heard about the AT&T U-verse? It sounds like Verizon FiOS. Video over IP. Instead of streaming ALL channels, like traditional cable, it only streams the channel you are viewing. It also claims you can record upto 4 programs at once (4 standard def programs, or 1 HD + 3 SD). As Time Warner cable is pissing me off, I am loosely considering it. Just looking for 1st hand knowledge.
I picked up this [link] monitor for free from someone on Craigslist who has had it in storage for five years.
Works perfectly. W00t!
Also, it has a little pull-out section on the side of the controls section on bottom that has a second VGA connector so you can hook up a laptop from the front, or a second PC, and toggle between them via a button on the panel.
My Flash drive's U3.exe has given up the ghost again. I am unthrilled. I don't want to have to reinstall the apps.
Hey, what's the cheapest way to clean off the screen and outside of a glossy powerbook? Smudges. Cathair.
Apple:
Cleaning Your PowerBook
Follow these general rules when cleaning the outside of your computer and its components:
* Shut down your PowerBook and remove the battery.
* Use a damp, soft, lint-free cloth to clean the computer’s exterior. Avoid getting moisture in any openings. Do not spray liquid directly on the computer.
* Don’t use aerosol sprays, solvents, or abrasives.
Cleaning Your PowerBook Display
To clean your PowerBook screen, do the following:
* Shut down your PowerBook and remove the battery.
* Dampen a clean, soft, lint-free cloth or paper with water only and wipe the screen. Do not spray liquid directly on the screen.
That having been said, if the damp cloth had a watered-down bit of Simple Green in it, it might help the smudges. Then go over it again with a clean damp cloth to remove possible residue.
I've been using eye glass cleaning cloths for the outside of mine.
