OS X does Appletalk you just have to enable it. Under your network system prefs choose the Ethernet controller and there should be a setting for Make Appletalk Active or some such.

Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!
I thought I said that.
I guess I didn't make it clear.
Sorry, I was reading through all the messages at once, I may have missed it.
Ya, now I see that. Of course, I'd already started wiping the drive, and apparently OS9 needs sharing on for AppleTalk to be on, and apparently Drive Setup can't be running with Sharing on. Crazy.
I got the old Yamaha CDR102 out, and burned a disk at 2x speed of the files. Now I'm watching a very slow progress bar go by as it wipes the drive.
Somehow, I don't remember installing a 2nd drive on this machine. Boy was I wacky! 2 drives, in one machine. Who would need such madness as that?
I just got a text message from my sister telling me my parents were about to toss my ZX Spectrum 16. I had no idea it was still around! So now I need it desperately, of course. I wonder how best to display it around the house.
Ooh! 16 k! Swanky indeed.
I don't know, connie. have you tried vixy.net?
Yay, that worked!
So what rechargeable batteries do people recommend for a digital camera (Canon Powershot A530)?
I generally don't use rechargables in digital cameras. I find they have no life at all in a gadget like that.
I found the opposite Sean. AA NiMH batteries that are at least 2200 mAh work great in digital cameras and in my old Canon A40 used to give me almost 200 additional shots over Alkaline. Rechargable 9v batteries are a different story. I used both Duracell and Enegergizer rechargables.
