Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

But if I get a Mac Mini, I won't have to get a separate DVD player!

OTOH, if I get a Mini, I'll end up paying a lot more money for no additional disk space.

Maybe I should just wait and see if Apple comes out with a new Mini. It hasn't been refreshed in a long time.

not your mom's socks.

Welcome too the 22nd century, Sox. It's kinda cool, huh?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

If a company uses an outside firm to do blocking of non-work-appropriate websites, are attempts to reach blocked sites typically logged in any way?

(Today I'm using a computer our client lent us. It's connected to their network via VPN. I tried to go to b.org on it, but it was blocked. So I gotta switch back and forth between my two computers to go to b.org.)

I'm just being needlessly paranoid, right?

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

I can't answer your question, Tom, but if you want to avoid using two computers, try alt.buffistas.net.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Okay, serious Outlook form question - how the fuck can I make it stop putting my signature in the Message field???

(I'm not composing an email, I'm designing a form. A form which will be used by OTHER PEOPLE to send information TO ME. Having my sig there makes NO SENSE, OUTLOOK. ARGGGGGGGGGGGH.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

are attempts to reach blocked sites typically logged in any way?

I figure that will depend on the software and on the configuration thereof.

Tom, I decided I didn't want to pry open the Apple TV, so that's why I didn't go that way. Transcoding is just fine. It's not a killer app, exactly, but it is nifty. I think it could have stood more thinking out.

Welcome too the 22nd century, Sox. It's kinda cool, huh?

very.

I just met my sister's BF over Skype. I may not have a rocket car, but this is still cool, and a whole lot safer.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

Can the AppleTV have additional Hard Drives attached (USB or FW)? If not, I'd lean towards the Mini. Then it's real easy to add additional storage space, you have your DVD player, and you can burn things from it too.

Of course, I have no AppleTV, so no clue what advantages it has.

I think the only real advantage is price, no?

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

You can rent HD movies on the Apple TV, but you can't on a Mini.

I can use Mac Minis to create a 66-screen video wall. You know, if I wanted to.
