I've had googlemaps integration and GPS on my Helio since I got it in August (though admittedly, the rest of it, and the interface, is not nearly as pretty as the iPhone), and it is quite nice. Though I also like having a real keyboard. OTOH, I've had it almost a year now.
But when my contract is over, I'll probably get an iPhone, yes. :)
The big news, is $399 to $199 -- we think we can check off more affordable.
Does this mean there will be a 32GB version as well?
I could probably get away with 8GB if I only put podcasts on it. I still have a 16GB Touch and a 30GB classic to hold the entire library for long trips...
(Also, Dear Steve, Please to be updating apple.com now. Kthxbye.)

Just 8 and 16GB, from what I'm seeing -- I think "399 to 199" is meant to be the price drop, not the range of models (but the tuaw live feed made the same guess and then corrected themselves a hair later).
That's good. Not good enough for me to get rid of my 8GB for the 16, but good. If I wait another 6 mos, maybe they'll come out with a 32 :)
I don't feel the need to upgrade. Yet.
Ugh. My Treo died last week and I'm using a cheap cheap cheap oldschool candybar phone. Now I have to wait a full month for the new iPhone.
It may not be worth it for me, despite the WANT. I want a more functional phone sooner, and I do love the Centros a lot.

I was expecting a price drop, but I was hoping it would be bigger models with the price drop in the form of allowing phone company subsidies. Because then I could've talked myself into waiting until next time I qualify for a phone upgrade. Straight-up cheaper makes me much more oosty.
Yeah, at that price point, I think I'll be waiting in a line outside an Apple store on the evening of July 10th.
