This isn't a come-on. I'm in a very serious relationship with a landscape architect.

not sure what you have Sean, but AudioHijack is really handy in that you can play WHATEVER (dvd, quicktime movie, internet site, game, anything as far as I can tell) and, in essence, record it. Kinda like taking a line from the headphone jack and patching it back in to the input jack, with no wankiness. It's a great quick n dirty tool to snag a sound, especially short ones for ring tones. Pro Tools or GarageBand can't quite do that. Download it. It's free to use if the "hijack" sessions are less than 10 minutes. I finally broke down and purchased a copy, because I was using it for a show to snag the audio from YouTube news feeds.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

What's the VBA code to turn the type in a cell sideways? To do a "merge and center"?

I'm not sure, but the best way I've found to figure out the VBA for stuff like that is to record a macro that does what you want and then look at the code generated.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Thanks, Jon - it didn't occur to me to try that. (Did I mention that all my VBA programming for Excel and Word has been done in Access?)

as I'm looking for a place to live, can I say how much I love Google Earth, and Google Maps Streetview?!? LOVE IT!

Is there a way to do Streetview in Google Earth?

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

You need version 4.3 of Google Earth for that.

So, in the continuing saga of my printing woes --

Nothing I downloaded from the Brother site was able to help. I was able to kind of get printing going again by completely reinstalling the print software from the original CD (which doesn't work either, and requires an update to function). I installed the update, which requires a direct USB connection to see the printer and finish.

I was then able to print directly off the USB, but as soon as I unplugged and tried to print over the airport, printing failed again.

The firmware update is unable to see the printer, no matter what.

There's also a remote connect program, a print control center, and a dashboard ink level widget that I downloaded a while ago, and none of them have ever been able to see printer, no matter what.

This is unbelievably irritating. My printer that I was mostly happy with up until now is almost useless.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Have you checked to see if your firewall got turned on/enhanced by the update?

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

My Firefox context menu (right-click) has inexplicably gained arrows at the top and bottom, as if it wants to scroll.

Anyone experienced this and know what's causing it and how to make it go away?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

ARGH. The tip of my headphone jack just broke off inside my MacPro. Any ideas on how to get it out? I have a paper clip...
