My first computer was a Atari 400, 16KB and a cassette drive. Awful keyboard, but a good computer.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Speaking of retro: Last Night We Exchanged Letters With Mom, Then Had A Party For Eleven People In Nine Different States And Only Had To Wash One Glass… (ad from 1983)

That’s CompuServe, The Personal Communications Network For Every Computer Owner

And it doesn’t matter what kind of computer you own. You’ll use CompuServe’s Electronic Mail system (we call it Email™) to compose, edit and send letters to friends or business associates. The system delivers any number of messages to other users anywhere in North America.

CompuServe’s multi-channel CB simulator brings distant friends together and gets new friendships started. You can even use a scrambler if you have a secret you don’t want to share. Special interest groups meet regularly to trade information on hardware, software and hobbies from photography to cooking and you can sell, swap and post personal notices on the bulletin board.

Compuserve abandoned the trademark on the term "email" in 1984....

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

"we call it Email™" I love it! It's darling!

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

CB simulator! I really wish they'd kept calling it that.

And you can use it to send a message to anyone in North America! Holy cow!

I seem to have somehow lost the Excel toolbar that you can change text in (i.e. you already have text in a cell and need to insert more text). I'm on a Mac. Help?

Is there a 'Formula Bar' option under the 'View' menu? That should be checked to show that UI component.

Yes, it's checked and appears.

Bad Wolf

I always loose that thing in Office 2007 and can never get it back without restarting (in XP though).

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I've lost it before too, and I can NEVER remember how to get it back.

I guess I am not much help, but I sympathize.

All I can say is that I am pretty sure it is not a tool bar, and I feel like it might be a keyboard shortcut that fixes it.
