Lorne: Take care of yourself and ah, make sure fluffy is getting enough love. Gunn: Did he have anything? Fred: No. And who's fluffy? Are you fluffy? Gunn: He called me fluffy? Fred: He said make sure…wait. You don't think he was referring to anything of mine that's fluffy, do you? Because that would just be inappropriate.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

We were evicted from our hole in the ground, and had to go live in a lake...

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Oh, yeah? How much RAM did your lake have?

Jumping in to bid for geek-trashiest: How about a 1981 DEC Rainbow with both Z80 and 8086 chip, and BOTH C/PM and MS-DOS 1.0....still operational, with all the papers I wrote as an undergraduate on floppies that STILL WORK.

(yes, I actually still have this. Don't know why.

You have the machine because that's fucking cool. You have the undergrad papers because... well, that's between you and your doG.

It's sort of cool. The monitor (which is nothing but a relogoed VT220T) needs a pair of filter caps for the power supply, as it's got some screen roll, but nothing bad, especially.

And re floppies: occasionally re-reading a college paper is a humbling experience. The papers are grammatically and syntactically correct, but gah it took a long time to express something simple.

Our wings are not tired

I need to retrieve it from San Diego but I still have a C/PM computer with an 8" floppy drive that is in a plywood case. It was still working last time I checked but that was quite a few years ago.

OK, I don't have anything that old. But. I am purging. I will say, as I've been digging through old papers, I found the receipt for the Apple 5300c that I am getting ready to toss. Shocking! I paid $4,500 for it! Imagine what kind of laptop you could get for that much today! So ya, I think it's safe to say computer prices have come WAY down.
