I like Yousendit, even if they do require registration now.
I've also used MegaUpload, but their interface kind of makes my eyes bleed.
Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!

They're almost all ad-heavy and kind of clunky. How large is the file?
Anybody have a suggestion for a cordless phone that doesn't suck complete ass?
We bought a Uniden 5.8Ghz about a year ago, and from the moment we unboxed it, it's gotten crap, staticky signal, and most of the time, the sound is so quiet, it can be impossible to hear the other person. We frequently tell people to call us on our cell phones, but that's not always practical, so we're looking for a better cordless.
I gave up years ago, and just got a Really Long Cord for my regular phone.
We've never had any trouble with Panasonic.
This solution has occurred to me, Tom. Unfortunately, it would mean when S is on the phone for long stretches dealing with bureaucrastupidity, the cord would stretch across house walkways (there some things about how our apartment is set up that are decidedly inconvenient).
However, that may ultimately be what we wind up doing (unless somebody finds a non-ass-sucking cordless for us).

I haven't had a landline in over a year, and I love it.
I'm happy with my cordless but I won't be home for two days so I can't tell you the brand until then.

I don't think I even know anyone with a landline any more. No one in my family has one, or most of the friends I can think of offhand.
I had one for the Tivo for a while, until it went wireless too. Which led to a kind of hilarious circumstance in which my old boss was desperately trying to get ahold of me and frantically called the Tivo all night long.
I like my landline because I never have to give out my cell phone number.
