Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

The easiest way would be to do it with VB code. Easiest to run, that is (it could be run with just one click). But it would just be a few lines of VB code, which I could post for you.

eta: Otherwise, DX's ideas are good.

Do you restrict the report to certain student numbers, and if so, how?

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

THanks DX and tommy.

To answer your questions, I restrict the report to a certain date (the date I deposit their money). So once I week I post the payments and run all the reciepts for payments posted on that day. Today it was 31 of them.

In the query, in the deposit date field, there is an "Enter Deposit Date " criteria. I can also print individual reciepts if needed with a copy of the same query with the "Enter Student ID" restriction, but the way my job works, I am only "allowed" to run credit cards once a week, and I don't like to give a reciept until I have an approval code, so I tend to have large batches of reciepts to pdf all at once. Also, once a month I need to run a statement for everyone, and have them in individual pdf's (hopefully with their name in the title, because I then have to attach them to emails) and match them up correctly. I am sure, actually that there is probably a way to code it so that it also sends the email, but I am pretty sure that is above my head.

Also-- how would one go about learning Visual Basic, because I am pretty sure this would be a lot easer if I know even the simplest piece of it.

How about Access VBA Programming For Dummies?

Our wings are not tired

This comes up every few months, but I'm asking again. What recommendations do folks have for webhosting/domain name registration? Keep in mind that a good portion of my work is done on Macs so the hosting needs to play nice with OS X and Mac based web development tools like iWeb.

On (I think it was) Evil Jimi's recommendation, last year I switched over to Host Affection. I have the "Executive Plan". $30/year, but GREAT service. They always answer my tech questions fast and well. I've rarely had any downtime, and when I have, it's been up again minutes later without any prompting from me. They're owned by Steadfast Networks who seem to be quite reliable.

I can't speak to their support of Mac development tools, but you could certainly ask them and see what they tell you.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I've been super-pleased with Dreamhost.

I want to second Evil Jimi's rec - Host Affection has worked well for me. Heard good things about dreamhost from others besides Jilli though.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

I use Dreamhost and have been well pleased with it. But--and this won't apply to you, ND, or at least I doubt it will--over the last month they've been going through certain users' accounts and looking for reasons to delete their files for TOS violations. But folks that have been cleverer about their files have gotten through unscathed. Anyway, it's a result of DH offering these huge service plans, with loads of space and bandwidth, figuring no one would actually need or use that much space, and then running out of bandwidth and room because, whaddaya know, people actually did use what they were offering.

Which is not to say don't go to Dreamhost. It's just a note about how they've been operating.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

I just moved to Dreamhost, and have been very pleased.
