When we landed here you said you needed a few days to get space worthy again and is there somethin' wrong with your bunk?

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

For some reason, it had been translated in to a .dat file, unreadable by Word. Opened it up in text edit and then transfered the text back into Word with most of the formatting intact.

Did you try simply changing the file name extension from .dat to .doc? You might have gotten all the formatting and saved a few more minutes!

A friend is going to be in Japan for nine months. Anyone want to contribute suggestions for cool tech he could get while he was there that is either cheaper than here, or not available here?

He is not super technically savvy, but as a professor does have use for media capabilities, and does enjoy playing with leading edge stuff. Also he has twenty something daughters who might enjoy stuff he could get there. Daughters also not super techie, but more comfortable with some thing. Like father not phobic, and willing to struggle to master stuff.

All suggestions welcome. Please specify if for him, daughters, or both.

Thanks

iPhone and iTouch users. A very cool new website for us all. Could be very useful when reading/posting in b.org. A wacked out way to copy/paste. Only works in browser. It's more of "copy/paste/paste", but it works!. Here is the link to the newstory and the link to the website

Hey. New board.

I just took apart my MacBook Pro and replaced the fan without looking at any instructions first. I am both stupid and proud.

It didn't :(

ETA: I was able to get it back! I looked in the Finder and there was a label for "Today." It had an AutoRecovery version of the file. Thank God!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

DH and I are having a Google Chat problem - we're both logged in, but neither of us is showing up on the other one's contact list. What gives?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Isn't the contents of that list determined by how often you get email from a given person? If that's the case, have you tried sending a few emails to each other?
