ETA: I was able to get it back! I looked in the Finder and there was a label for "Today." It had an AutoRecovery version of the file. Thank God!

DH and I are having a Google Chat problem - we're both logged in, but neither of us is showing up on the other one's contact list. What gives?
Isn't the contents of that list determined by how often you get email from a given person? If that's the case, have you tried sending a few emails to each other?
It should just say so if you are, but you're not both invisible, are you?
I don't think so, tommy. I never use my GMail account and people show up on my list...
Well, the top of the list is always other contacts signed into Chat.
We seem to have fixed it by re-inviting each other, even though we were both already signed in and online. Weirdness.
Aww, man. Joseph Weizenbaum died: [link]
he is survived by three other daughters: Miriam, of Providence, R.I.; Naomi, of Gröben; and Pm, of Seattle.
Pm? Of Seattle?
you: Pm? Of Seattle?
ELIZA: Please go on.
How do you feel about Pm of Seattle?
