Mal: Well, look at this! Appears we got here just in the nick of time. What does that make us? Zoe: Big damn heroes, sir.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Can it import Quicken or QuickBooks files, DX? If I can convert my historical data it might be worthwhile to switch next time an upgrade looms at me. Free sounds a lot more cost-effective than paying for two licenses for one tiny company.

Compassionately intolerant

eeep. The installation seems more suited to someone with DX's skill...and for machines with Panther installed, which is not me.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Sorry about that bonny. There's an installer for Windows that was easy peasy. I didn't realize that the Mac install was hands on.

-t, they say it can import QIF files, but I never tried it. I was able to import OFX files downloaded from my bank and credit card accounts.

Good to know. Thanks!

Hey. New board.

Hmm. GNU Cash looks interesting, though i have a licensed copy of Liquid Ledger for the Mac that I adore. Very native Mac feeling, also double entry.

My problem is that I forget to actually use it, then I find myself 5 or 6 months behind, and then the task of fixing it is daunting.

Trust my rage

I used Quickbooks for several months when we were doing the coffee business. It had a steep learning curve but I learned a lot about accounting. They have basic books that can help with figuring out the initial and basic skills/setup requirements.

Art Crawl!!!

Okay, Tivo did this thing where instead of recording channel 162 it recorded channel 10. (That is how it didn't record Dresden Files last night.)

Why does it do this and is there a fix for it?

Are you using one of those IR things to change the channel on the cable box?

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

At one point my tivo missed all channels with a 6 in them - I had to slow down the speed in which the channels changed.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Yeah, I ran into the weirdo '6' problem at one point. If you check TivoCommunity.com, you'll find a FAQ with frequent problems, and channel changing is one of the biggies. All you have to do is go into the menus and try different IR blaster settings.
