Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Adobe has a mobile version of Flash called Flash Lite. They missed a huge marketing opportunity by not calling it Kid Flash.

No, I don't think I will - me, quoting Captain Steve Rogers, to all of 2020

They missed a huge marketing opportunity by not calling it Kid Flash.

Also missed a huge lawsuit by Time Warner/DC Comics.

6 of one, half dozen of the other...

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

"I'd even go as far as to say that the web experience isn't complete on the iPhone until some kind of Flash support is added," wrote Stewart, who added that 450 million mobile devices are Flash enabled.

Right now I'm agreeing. Flash seems to have a huge penetration in terms of quick media clips, as well as web site applications.

Jobs's comments came on the same day Microsoft Corp. announced a deal to make its Silverlight media player available on mobile phones using Nokia Corp. software.

Microsoft launched Silverlight, a challenger to Flash, for PCs in April 2007. It will run on smartphones that use the newer S60 version of Nokia's Symbian mobile phone operating system, as well as older ones using the S40 version, Microsoft said.

Interesting. I didn't know Symbian and Nokia had the edge on the Smartphone market. I thought it would be Windows CE. If Silverlight is to be a competitor to Flash, will it play Flash files?

Especially considering there's a freaking YouTube widget built right into the damn thing.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

silverlight doesn't play Flash. It's Microsoft's attempt to kill off Flash with their own solution. I'm sure it'll get bundled with the next version of Windows, which pretty much means Flash = teh dead in 5 years.

Personally, I don't really miss flash much on the iPhone.

Hmm - I'm fine with flash for media clips, and really any type of animation. But am I the only one who hates, hates, hates flash as the driving force for a web site, hates it as the driver for non-animated menus, hates it as the presenter of text.

Actually let me be fair: I don't hate flash for having those capabilities. I hate the web designers for using misusing them.

OK - here is a company who is making a product I think will help save the world if someone adapts it. But am I wrong in think this flash based website really sucks, in part because it misuses flash?

(I also think it is a mistake to open only with a menu, and not present some sort of default content.)

In the first 8 months, iPhone has garnered 28 percent market share

28% market share of what? Of cell phones? Because I find that really hard to believe.

28% market share of what?
