Now, I can hold a note for a long time...actually I can hold a note forever. But eventually that's just noise. It's the change we're listening for. The note coming after, and the one after that. That's what makes it music.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I could do the hack to add xvid to the Apple TV (just named her Lilith), but I'm going to go with this for now.

Yeah, I have my Tivo rigged so that I can pull all my stuff off of it and it gets transcoded for iPhone, iPod, and Apple TV.

Man did I ever drink the Kool-Aid.

I've named my iPhone Capt. Jack.

I'm almost there, but now my main PC isn't talking to the Apple TV. Not an urgent issue, since Lilith grabbed all of Zoe's content back when they were on speaking terms, but it does bother me.

I don't have a Devices section in that left hand pane of iTunes, and when I go to the Apple TV tab of preferences, it doesn't list it.

However the laptop (OS X) sees it fine, after not having been able to. I wonder if it's a wired/wireless thing...but that doesn't make sense.

I need to get a switch for the living room and was wondering--what non-Apple products duplicate the Airport's ability to share an external hard drive?

well, of course.

I decided on Capt. Jack because it's sleek, sexy, makes me happy and fulfills my needs. Just like Capt. Jack would. *sigh*

Umm, this is fiction, right?

Can't help on this one, I'm using the Apple product there too, and it works really well.

I doubt it. Fact stranger than fiction out there. It makes it very difficult to come in after a disaster because the client is on the defensive and assumes all things computer are going to destroy their business and life.

I'm a bad nerd. I have so many toys that I haven't taken the time to learn how to use. Need a time generating gadget.
