Or maybe it is an ibook G3. This is why I don't do hardware. I don't pay enough attention.

What color is your computer, sara?
Kind of opalescent white (with the clearish finish on the case.) (I swear, I'm the worst computer customer ever. )
I was just looking at that, which is what made me revise.

Can you find the internet?
Can you understand how to type in a URL?
Do you know how to cut and paste?
Have you ever spent months complaining long distrance to your sister that your new printer won't work when you had never actually connected it with your computer? Even after said sister asked you over and over if the cables were connected?
It looks like you will need one of these cables to hook up your computer to a VGA display.
sarameg, there was a defect in some iBook G3s that caused the display to die. Apple was fixing the defect for free outside of warranty. (They fixed mine a few years ago.) I'm not sure if the program is still in effect though (I don't see it at apple.com - Home > Support > Exchange & Repair Extension Programs > iBook.)
Which was supposedly included, but I'll have to dig through the box. Guess what I'll be doing at lunch?
And thank you so much. Without having the damned thing in front of me (and able to see the screen) I'm a fount of misinformation and confusion.
eta: thanks tommy. I'll check that out too.
